Ladies, ladies,
lovely ladies!!! Tonight's episode is "Steele Threads"!!! The "flesh kiss"!!!
*sigh* (I'm gonna try to get the XenosHubby to post on this one. He says
he might. The pressure's on!) Looking forward to your posts...

| I'm only doing
this because I'll never have any peace otherwise.
"Xenos" won't let me near the computer
when she's posting or in chat, and yet I always hear this constant stream
of OMG!, OMG!, OMG! and hand-in-the-cookie-jar laughter.
Yeah, so I watch the occasional Remington
Steele Episode. I admit they're good, sometimes damn good. I mean, who
can fail to notice the freckle-spackled vixen that is Stephanie Zee? (Take
that Xenos, I saw your towel comments...)
Or howabout the voluptuous Ms. Krebs?
(Big hair, big ... you know.)
Anyway, so I'm watching the "Steele
Threads" episode with X, and she's getting all into it as usual (She NEVER,
EVER fails to say a throaty "Damn!" when Brosnan enters the theatre during
the credits). Don't get me wrong, I like Brosnan alot. He's the type of
guy that guys like and admire UNTIL they notice their wives and girlfriends
are ALSO admiring him. That's not his fault. On the plus side, I don't
have to work as hard.
On to my homework. This was one of
those up and down episodes for me. I thought the garment industry setting
a great choice, but personally not interesting to me. I loved when it all
came together at the end about the bullet-proof fabric, but felt the additional
hook about it being RADAR absorbent unnecessary and confusing.
I would have liked to have seen some
government agents thrown in because it would have elevated the mystery
beyond it's initial appearance of being just a industry squabble between
two brothers gone too far.
It was sad to see the breakup between
brother Barron and the Frenchman over a little international espionage,
but oh well. They made such a cute couple against all fashion industry
stereotypes.
And what kind of a name is Bulletz?
Maybe our next child...
The good stuff. Post fashion runway
dressing room scene. Love how Mz. Holt whips that dress off without a shred
of self-consciousness. Acapulco baby!
From a purely analytical point of
view, nice teddy Laura! Thumbs uP! And then there's Steele feeling her
up and smacking two other ladies on their posteriors. Oh to be that hand...!
(Have to say it, Brosnan looked and acted like a young Al Franken in his
disguise ;).
X is over my shoulder getting all
critical, so in closing, they've been knocking boots since episode one.
Laura just won't take her socks off. That's the problem...
"Ouch" Stop it X.

| I was NOT looking
over his shoulder...at least not the whole time anyway. (Though I DID flick
him in the head after the Al Franken comment. Hence the "ouch".) Just so
you know, I take no responsibility for his post. (I had to snicker at the
"I watch the occasional RS episode"...LOL! He watches it every Friday with
me. He calls it my "homework".) Now, on to MY thoughts...
I ALWAYS enjoy this episode. Three
things struck me right off the bat. One is how freakin' gorgeous Pierce
was in this episode (especially in his leather jacket...grrrrrrrrrr!).
Two is that there was no movie reference. Huh?!?! And three is that Mildred
was missing. Things that make you go, "hmmmmmm."
Anyway, I'll start at the beginning.
Bulletz. What a character! I rank him right up there with Morrie from "To
Stop A Steele". And Carl for some strange reason reminds me of The Rat.
WHY?!?! Jump to the fashion show. Remington looked GREAT as Sam St. Cloud...glasses
and all! (Could his suit be any shinier, though? LOL!) And Laura looked
stunning in her black dress! Damn, I wish I looked that good! The big necklace
was a bit too much, IMHO, but at least it wasn't as bad as the Egyptian
disaster from "Tempered Steele". LOL about the XenosHubby wanting to be
Remington's hand...I want to be Laura's butt!!! I think he got further
with her there than in their entire four-and-a-half years together...Except
maybe in "Bonds Of Steele" where he had her thrown over his shoulder and
he smacked her rear.
Funny little bit that I hadn't caught
before...Mitzi and Bulletz work together like Laura and Remington (minus
the sexual tension, of course...eeeeewwwww...don't even want to go there!).
Loved the line, "That's what I like about you, Bulletz. Always thinking
of the other fella." Laura just as easily could have said that to/about
Mr. Steele. And for some reason, the "You." "Me?" "Him." "Me?" "You." exchange
always makes me laugh. Also, the whole "schnorred" scene is pretty funny.
Mr. Steele sliding the unexposed pictures into his top desk drawer is great.
I almost expected to see the unused nuts and bolts from "Love Among The
Steele" still in there. LOL!
"Selenium yeast? I always seem to
get a rise out of that." I was waiting for the ba-dum-bum *symbol crash*.
Now...The scene with THE FLESH KISS!!!
OMG, OMG, OMG!!!
R: Deeply, Laura; from the heart.
L: Mmm. You're very good at this
you know. (OMG, I can only imagine!!!)
R: Comes naturally, with the right
person.
*STEELEGASM* It's love I tell you...L-O-V-E!!!
I LOVE Laura's speech and how Mr. Steele reacts. (Though I doubt he'd really
be scrounging for the rent.) It was a nice sentiment, though. And that
kiss!!! THAT KISS!!! *fanning myself* Loved how he moved his long fingers
up her neck and then started back down... Damn that Bulletz!!! Who knew
that over-the-shoulder kisses could be so seductive and look so good!?!?
(The XenosHubby and I watched that scene again...and the scene with Laura
in her teddy. It was a VERY enjoyable evening!!!)
OK...Skipping ahead cuz this is getting
long and we're gonna take the kids to the Zoo. The "babe" scene. *sigh*
OMG!!! How gorgeous is our Mr. Steele crying over Laura's limp body? OMG!!!
The tears...The trembling hands...The kisses...The "babe"!!! OMG!!! "There
were so many things I wanted to tell you. So many things I should have
told you. I'm sorry." OMG!!!(I'm welling up just thinking about it!!! DAMN,
he's good!!!)
Things that make you go "huh"?
* How could Remington know that
Mark Pryne had a skull fracture just by looking at him? He hit the BACK
of his head...Mr. Steele didn't even LOOK at the back of his head.
* Why did Remington look in the
freezer when he found ham in the fridge? Was he expecting to find Mark
in there? (I know, I know...It was a funny bit. I'm just saying...)
* Remington/St. Cloud taking Lila
to lunch in the limo with the "R STEELE" license plate. LOL!
* Binky?!?! Now there's a fanfic
waiting to be written!
OK...I'll leave it at that. There's
a lot more I could say, but I gotta run. Besides, I'll leave some for the
rest of you!

| XenosHubby:
Thank you for the great post, it
must be the first time a husband does a SOTW in order to have some peace
in the house. Let me just say that you did an excellent job, and I thank
you for your refreshing viewpoint. The "Laura just won't take her socks
off" comment was priceless.
Thank you again and I hope we get
the pleasure of reading more posts from you. Xenos is lucky to have you.

| Xenoshubby, great
post and I hope we'll be hearing more from you!
OK, my own observations...
A very good episode as we approach
the middle of the second season. George Lee Marshall's first contribution
to the Steele legacy give us one of the best kisses and some genuine outpouring
of emotion from our Mr. Steele. And what a great character in Bulletz Bloustein!
Memorable Stuff
- Steele as Sam St. Cloud
- Steele not-so-subtly checking
Laura out backstage at the fashion show
- Laura & Steele chasing the
baddie and then Laura realizing she's only wearing a teddie!
- Laura sending Carl back to the
back of the store time after time to get massive quantities of the health
food stuff.
- L & R jumping apart (and looking
guilty!) like teenagers when Bulletz interrupts the Flesh kiss
- That Carl sure knows how to show
a girl a good time. Going back to the health food store with take out?
Ugh.
- A pleated muffler! LOL
Character Development
- Steele's need to reconcile the
brothers coming from his own lack of family.
- The foot massage! (Where do I
sign up for that?) Also like how she seems to really think about his words
when he says "It comes naturally with the right person." Would she have
let him do that without Bulletz there as a chaperone?
- The FLESH kiss! Perhaps the sexiest
of Season 2? Laura comparing the Mart to her days before Mr. Steele appeared
- women just around for show, not the real work.
- The one-and-only TV show Mr. Steele
(the movie buff) can handle - The Honeymooners
- Steele's confession to Bulletz
that he has lost someone once - I assume this is a reference to Anna...
- Holt & Steele dividing &
conquering Lila & Carl. Teamwork in action.
- Steele thinking Laura had been
killed and confessing there were so many things he should have told her.
Too bad the writers never followed up on that....
- Milton knows Laura well enough
to call her "Binky" - wish we could have learned the story behind that!
Favorite lines
Bulletz: Miss Holt you've known me
for almost an hour. You still don't trust me?!
--------------
The whole footrub/flesh kiss scene
--------------
The whole "Laura is shot" scene
at the loft
Hair & Clothing
- Laura looks faboo in that black
dress she models
- In the t-shirt & leggings,
Steph looks about 18! But I love her hair down in that scene and in the
flesh kiss scene
Goofs, Headscratchers & Misc
- I believe this is the first episode
directed by a woman?
- I have never understood why Laura
walks around the loft with the door unlocked. And did she really think
Carl wouldn't shoot her?
- Since the bullet did put a hole
in the outside shell of the coat, was it actually the lining that was bullet-proof?
- John Van Dreelen (Francois) appeared
with Pierce in Noble House

I'm off to watch now, but I must
say Xenos, if you have a man who doesnt seem to mind your "hand in the
cookie jar laughter" or even your "throaty" shouts of DAMN whenever Steele
comes on screen... well all I have to say is this:
Does he have a nephew? :)
Aaaaanywaays, quite enjoyed both
of your posts (and the other ones too of course). Too humorous and as always,
laced with intelligent observations and delivered very wittily and eloquently.
I look forward to reading the posts every week, as I am garuanteed a good
laugh, and specific things to look for when I watch that I perhaps had
never noticed before.
XenosHubby, if you actually have
the courage to name your next child (*nudge nudge wink wink Xenos..*) Bulletz,
then I will name my future (and by future I mean 10 to 15 years lol) child
Batman... or maybe just Bruce Wayne... or possibly even Dark Knight. OR!
Maybe it'll be Bruce "The dark knight aka batman" Wayne. (My husband, or
you know, any boyfriend I have, will need to pretty much love batman. WOW,
I am incredibly nerdy....) OKAY, on to Steele Threads, post again once
I've watched :)

| I liked "Steele
Threads", it's one of those episodes that has a little of everything. The
brothers were both very good, but I just loved Bulletz. Liked how he steals
that hot dog and then is eating fries in the limo.
Didn't like Mr. Steele's undercover
part of the clothes buyer. The cigar was yucky and his clothes, the brown
shirt and gold tie, not good.
However, Xenos we have two new t-shirts
to wonder about. What was written on that purple t-shirt Laura was wearing?
Also, the black t-shirt under her green blouse, all I could read was Fair
Lady. Did anyone else make out the
words written on the t-shirts? I
don't remember Laura wearing any more t-shirts throughout the series except
for these two and the "Safe and Sound" one.
Loved the ending of the show, when
Remington can't stand Laura patiently trying to unwrap her gift from Bulletz
and just tears the paper for her.
Also, doesn't it look like SZ had
fun covering Pierce's mouth with her red scarf?

| GREAT!!! Thanks
a lot, Isabel! Now I'll be wondering about those t-shirts, too! LOL!
Oh, yeah...Something I didn't have
time to mention in my first post...Stephanie looked GREAT in everything
she wore in this episode. I LOVE her in casual clothes. (Just as I LOVE
Remington in casual clothes...Especially jeans...Tight jeans...Ones that
hug his tight, firm -- whoops! I digress! *sigh*) And her hair looked especially
good in this episode. Remington wearing a plaid shirt?!?! What...Did he
steal it from Murphy? LOL! What the heck...The man even looks great in
PLAID!!! I actually LOVED that shirt! Loved the leather jacked more, but
he certainly can pull off plaid, I tell ya'!
And I agree with you, Isabel...Laura
DID look like she was having fun covering Remington's mouth with the pleated
muffler. I LOVE the freeze frame at the end. It ALWAYS makes me smile.
The look in Remington's eyes -- too cute!!!

| (a younger brother
or distant cousin perhaps? lol) If I were to date your nephew.. that would
be the equivalent of me (a late teen) dating a 31 year old man haha....
well you know there are a lot of goood looking 31 year old men, but I don't
think my mom would appreciate that hehe. On to the episode:
Loved how, when R&L were backstage,
he kept checking her out while Julian was raving at them, and her realization
when she runs out in her teddy. (It's "dy" ending for teddy and "ies" for
teddies.. I looked it up... I'm anal about (most) spelling and grammar
lol)
I lovelovelove how he casually sweeps
the underexposed photographs into the desk draw and shoves it shut... then
nonchalantly flicks the one remaining one off his desk and onto the floor.
Very (in my opinion) 'mr.steele-like' of him.
And okay, was Carl on steroids?!
Because he must have been awfully strong to fracture a man's skull simply
by pushing him into a fridge. My logic tells me that if that situation
were to arise, one would end up with either 1)a huge headache 2)a concussion
and/or bruise or finally 3)in a coma... but hey, it's TV and I've suspended
my beliefs to allow room for enjoyment :) (and yes, Carl is strangely reminiscent
of "the rat." He totally ruined the "T" name for me, because I know an
intensely gorgeous man of the same name but I can't help but think of "him"
whenever ... wow I've strayed off track!)
Although I never really notice Laura
(and not just because of Steele, but I'm not very observant when it comes
to checking out what other women are wearing lol), I did however find that
she looked quite nice during her little 'pep' talk with Lila, in her purple
t-shirt and leg warmers :) I also thought her hair looked very good (and
very 80's) there. It was nice seeing her like that because we pretty much
never get to.
FLESH KISS!! Omg... so cute and sentimental
and awesome and tender and passionate-but-not-overdone and, well you get
the picture. OMG! I just noticed this for the first time when I watched
on Saturday... right when Bulletz is interrupting the famed kiss and R&L
break it up, Steele's facial expression is probably *the* cutest I have
ever seen it :D He has this sort of embarrassed-ish look on his face and
DIMPLES!!!! I actually (and admittedly) rewound it and paused it just to
look at how absolutely splendid he looked. I highly recommend you all skip
to that scene and slow mo it (that is, if you haven't already lol) and
then pause it right when they break away. AAGH! So cute :)
*XENOS! I just thought of something!
This particular episode, I do believe that Mr.Brosnan would have been 30,so
maybe I could/should/would date a 30 year old after all...*
If Mr.Steele is clever enough to
point out to Laura that "Lila just made you" wouldn't he have realized
that she would have in fact spotted him as well and know that they were
together? Really now, who are they trying to fool?
Getting kinda long now so I'll wrap
it up. In conclusion: It was sexual and funny all at the same time, a very
winning combo.
And, WHO'S EXCITED FOR STEELE ELIGIBLE
THIS WEEK?! I KNOW I AM! I'M CANCELING ALL APPOINTMENTS, IGNORING ALL PHONE
CALLS AND BLOWING OFF ALL FRIENDS TO STAY AT HOME AND WATCH IT!!!!! (just
kidding... but seriously, I am)

Ah, TeenSteele!
So funny, your post. Yes, I unashamedly and wholeheartedly admit that I
have slow-moed and froze RS many-a-time to watch God's most gorgeous creature
in action (or inaction, as the case may be). *sigh* And as for his dimples...Yes,
Steph is not the only one with cute dimples. Every once in a while you
get to see Pierce's...and, holy cow, are they magnificent. My favorite
is what I refer to as his "kissing dimple" (on his left side). For the
best shot of it, watch "The Thaw" kiss and freeze frame it. SO sexy! And
as for you dating a 30-year-old...Honey, if you can find a man who looks
like THAT and is as wonderful as he is...GO FOR IT!!! :D

| Okay TeenSteele,
that was a wonderful post. However, DO NOT listen to Xenos and her wrong
advice about dating a 30-year-old, no matter if he is PB's younger clone.
I KNOW that she just got carried away.
You need to stick to the younger
guys, there are very nice ones out there, my son is 22 years old and he
is a sweetheart.

| I've heard that
older men are more settled and focused. There are several members in my
own family who have ten or more years difference in their ages and they
have some of the best relationships I've ever seen. So, there can be an
advantage to an older man, as long as you're not TOO young.
Neeney |
by
everglade68 (Mon Jun 4 2007) |
|
I agree Neeney
but a teenager with a 30-year-old is not good. I think that
once you are older and mature, age
makes little different. However, it is a
lot easier if you both grew up in
the same time period.
Isabel |
by
jrdedrick (Mon Jun 4 2007) |
|
| I'll agree and
disagree. That's how old my aunt and uncle were when they started dating
(he's thirteen years older than her). But you're right about the maturity.
Neeney
|
by
TeenSteele (Mon Jun 4 2007) |
|
| Yeah, I think
to a certain point it's ultimately all about the personality of both people.
A mature 30 year old (man or woman) wouldn't date an extremely immature
15,16 or 17 year old. (And I leave out 18 because it's "legal" and it happens
more often than we'd like to think about...) As long they both understand
each other and can have fun I don't really see why they shouldn't go out
on a date.
But then there is the argument that
certain parents I know of (not just mine!) like to bring up: The elder
of the 2 in said relationship will always have more life experience, wherein
the youngin' would be inexperienced in certain aspects and easy to "take
advantage" of, so to speak.
But anyways, I think once you're
at least 19 or 20, the age gap doesn't really make as much as a difference
than say if you were 14 or 15. And it goes with the old saying, "age is
just a number." :)

Holy crap, TeenSteele!!!
I guess you and I opened up a whole can of worms on this subject. Let me
clarify my position...I said that if TeenSteele could find a man that looked
as hot as Remington (which is absolutely and unequivocally impossible)
and acted the way he did (also impossible...after all, this gorgeous man
remained celibate for over four freakin' years just to be with the woman
he loved), she should go for it. Hell, if ANYONE finds that man -- whether
you are young, old, single or married -- I say GO FOR IT!!! (You know,
Pierce is my "gimmie". The XenosHubby gave me permission. Don't get your
undies in a knot...I gave him Catherine Zeta-Jones in return. I think that's
pretty fair. Pierce...Are you reading this? E-mail me!) [[winkgrin]]
