• July 21- 30: Lionsgate is releasing the film in Miami theaters on Friday July 27th for the week only. Whether this is an Official Release or a Test Marketing seems up for debate.  No marketing push or official reporting of box office indicate that it's a one week test marketing (athough without much actual marketing).   

• From a weekend ad in a Miami paper here are the five theaters it will play. The Miami Herald now has a listing online (only showing 3 of the 5 theaters though).   If you can see the film that weekend please do since they are basing expansion on it. It might also be the only weekend you get the chance.  There is now a petition up (created by Gerard Butler fans) for Lionsgate to expand distribution where you can add your voice.  If you've seen the film please leave a review on the IMDB: Butterfly On A Wheel (aka Shattered) page.

• June 23: Butterfly On A Wheel has been renamed Shattered for the U.S. market.  According to GB.net it is scheduled for a limited release by Lionsgate - starting in Miami,July 27.  Please go to the topic on GB.net for further information.  How the film plays in Miami will decide it's expansion elsewhere in the U.S.  Maple Pictures distributes the film in Canada and there is no release date from them yet.  Contact Lionsgate or Maple Pictures for further information or to let them know of your interest for wider distribution.

The film's original title Butterfly on a Wheel alludes to a line in Alexander Pope's Epistle to Dr. Arbuthnot: "Who breaks a butterfly upon a wheel?" which is generally interpreted as questioning why someone would put massive effort into achieving something minor or unimportant. Sharp cinematography and a subtle bluesy score complement the taut storytelling. Overall, Mike Barker's Shattered is a suspenseful psychological thriller with twists and turns that keep you guessing, solid performances (especially by Bello) and an ultimately satisfying ending.
